2ND SHORT TERM TRAINING - BARREIRO, PORTUGAL

DAY 1:

Rodrigo Galrito, a Portugese teacher welcomed all the teachers and students at 2nd short term training activity in Barreiro, Romania and introduced the programme prepared for them in Barreiro.

The headmistress of Escola Secundária Augusto Cabrita, Barreiro, Marianna Aleves had a welcome speech.

The President of the Municipality/ Mayor of Barreiro, Frederico Rosa, welcomed a delegation of VET4SCAPE Erasmus+ project - 27 students and 12 teachers from seven schools in Slovenia, Austria, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Portugal and Bulgaria, in the Paços do Concelho. Speaking to all, Frederico Rosa hoped that this visit would represent "an enriching experience in which students can learn about local history and culture." He stressed the importance of the Erasmus + project, which "allows the exchange of knowledge and experience between students and teachers from different countries". Afterwards, the delegation participated in a guided tour, to the Windmill of Alburrica. 

In the afternoon of the first day students visited the company PURMOLD - Polyurethane Reaction Injection Molds (RIM). They saw all the working process and could ask the questions about the company and prepare all the material for the final products about the company - the report and the video.

The workshop How to make a video was held at school and was led by Marco Garcia, Stanko Levicar and taughed the students how correctly and properly make the video, as the final product.

DAY 2

AZEITAO a sleepy village with fine mansions and wine

The first place we visited on the second day of our learning event in Portugal was Azeitão. Near the Arrabida Natural Park  is the sleepy-but-prosperous agricultural village of Azeitão, known for its red wine and some of the finest quintas -villas or country estates in the country. Worth a visit has been on the edge of town the Fonseca Winery where we coul sample some of Portugal's best red table wines and see its assembly-line production.We bought some bottles of tasty wine home as presents for our relatives. :)

Arrabida Natural Park

The second place we visied was the Arrabida Natural Park. It is famous for its golden beaches and secluded bays, Arrabida Natural Park stretches along the southeastern coastline of the Setubal peninsula. A protected area sheltering Mediterranean plant and animal wildlife, the vast park covers more than 100 sq km of mountainous landscapes covered with olives, pistachios, and lavender. The park's hills serve as a permanent home to a large population of native deer and boar, while the lower areas protect butterflies, beetles, eagles, and kestrels.

Portinho da Arrábida

Our third stop was Portinho da Arrábida. It´s a beauty of nature considered as a seven wonderful beach in Portugal. The sea up in hill it´s so blue, green (nature), and so high!
The beach is so beautiful, with calm sea, so nice to be here with all the students and teachers involved in ERASMUS+ :)

Sesimbra Fisherman Village

After the tasty Portugese lunch we headed to Sesimbra Fisherman Village. Our aim was to get to know the traditions of a cozy fishing village in the picturesque town of Sesimbra and make the film about this fisherman village as the final product of our project. We strolled  through the town's old, narrow streets as we tasted delicious pastry made only here. When we reached the port, we walked around the docks, then saw a fisherman's warehouse. We liked it.

DAY 3

8:30 – 9:30 - JA companies presentation

9.30 - 12.30 - English specimen lessons

12.30 - 14.00 - Lunch at the restaurant

14:00 – 15:00 - Workshop “How to do a report”

15.00-16.00 - Prepare the reports about the visit to the company

16.00-18.00 - English specimen lessons

The third day of the 2nd short term training event started with the presentation of the JA companies of the schools which work in the project. Some of them presented their new activities wich have been done by their JA companies since the 1st short term training event in Vidin Bulgaria. Some of the schools have not established their companies yet and they are preparing for this act next school year.

The workshop How o write a report was led by Michael Huber Kirchberger. Then students were working on the final products reports and videofilms on the special topics:

English specimen lessons - Topic - Advertising. Students were divided into 4 international groups and all of them had 4 English specimen lessons. Students learned vocabulary, types of advertisement, advertising tricks, hw advertiement works and ABS of a good presentations. They took part in oral testing about advertising. In groups they created ideas for a good advertisement and presented it to other groups. Students have learned a lot a t after these lessons they took the test about advertising.

After a hard working day students had a students´ dinner held in the school canteen. They had great menu for dinner - typical Portugese meals prepared by Portugese students. After dinner students had a party, they were dancing and having a fun. They made new friendships. Teaches also spend evening together at a nice restaurant with a delicious dinner and were chatting till late night.

DAY 4

                       Lisbon Story Center

All the students and teachers visited Lisbon - the capital and the most influential city of Portugal. It lies on the Atlantic Ocean and River Tagus, it is about half an hour from Barreiro. Its privileged location made it one of the most important cities thanks to the control of great part of the Atlantic. The international group of students and teachers involved in the project VET4SCAPE has seen the most important places in Lisbon. But one day was enough only to taste the beauty of this great city and most of us will definitely come back and continue in sightseeing and exploring the city. We have seen these great places in Lisbon:

From the morning students were working on their  final products - films and reports in foru international groups.  During their work the teachers had a teachers´meeting.
