ABOUT THE PROJECT

The VET4SCAPE project is a project for secondary vocational schools and has the ambition to improve the quality of this education. The project title "Vocational Education for Skills, Competence and Practice for the Economy" covers vocational training in skills, competencies and practice in the economy. Schools involved in the project implement the aspects set out in the statement of the EU Ministers responsible for Vocational Education and Training for the period 2015 - 2020. (Riga conclusions 2015)

There are 3 pillars on which the project VET4SCAPE is built:

1) The major part is the creation of JA companies to gain practical experience with economic activities. For this reason, students also visit real firms during training sessions. As the two participating schools focus on tourism and catering, we also visit tourist sites and create documentation on these activities. Students exchange their experiences with national Student firms and prepare for a joint venture to try and experiment with international business activities. This will stimulate creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship for their future career. During these activities, they will learn how to create promotional videos for their Student Societies. Students will receive a certificate for participation in the Junior Achievement program.

2) The second aspect deals with the strengthening of Business English competency. Students will be able to take part in the B1 level LCCI (London Chamber of Commerce and Industry) certificate. As English language is the working language of the project, we have also created learning plans for other, especially English language related subjects (CLIL).

3) The third pillar supports students' intercultural competence and their ability to work in an international team. This was prepared and implemented at the first training session. A questionnaire was created on the stereotypes that students discussed and resulted in recommendations and warnings. It was based on students' experiences and the exchange of knowledge and perception of students involved in the project from partner schools.

In a globalized world, we need to prepare our students for international activities as soon as possible. In this project, students and teachers have the opportunity to connect with people from six other schools, both online and online. The project focuses on students and teachers from 7 vocational schools in partner countries and business partners with schools (businesses, local communities, parents, support organizations such as LCCI and Junior Achievement). We will explore cooperation with ISBE (International Society for Business Education) and EUSDR (European Union Strategy for the Danube Region). Teachers involved in the project have the opportunity to gain further knowledge and competences through professional development. (They have the opportunity to get a business certificate.)

Since economic activities are no longer limited to the national level, students are prepared for these activities at the international level, and therefore we cooperate across borders (comparative legal aspects to starting a business, salaries, educational systems, cross-border trade, etc.) The project also leads to the transfer of quality between schools, as we test the methods used at partner schools.

The documentation is on the eTwinning platform, where we have already started the eTwinning project VET4SCAPE, where the teachers from each participating school are already registered. A website of the project - https://vet4scape.wixsite.com/erasmusplus has been set up that is accessible to the public or anybody interested in the project. We contact the local and regional press in order to report on the project and deliver the results during professional seminars for teachers and at national and international conferences. The results of the project will be made available to all interested parties.
